Incident Report, Recent Service Interruption

· One min read
Founder & CEO

We want to transparently address a recent service disruption that temporarily affected access to VakaCloud.

What happened?

Our servers received a highly targeted, irregular network request. While our systems blocked the majority of the malicious traffic, one specific request triggered a bug in a background component of our web server, which resulted in a temporary service interruption in the application.

Was my data safe?

Yes, absolutely. This was a Denial of Service (DoS) event aimed solely at disrupting application availability. Our databases and authentication systems remained fully secure, and no customer data or sensitive information was exposed or compromised at any point.

What have we done to fix it?

Our engineering team quickly identified the vulnerable background component. Because this component is not essential to VakaCloud's core features, we have permanently removed it from our infrastructure. This specific issue cannot happen again.

Furthermore, we are in the process of upgrading our security filters to block irregular traffic more aggressively before it even reaches our servers.

We understand how important VakaCloud is to your daily operations, and we sincerely apologize for the disruption. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our support team.
